Choosing The Right Shampoo

Shimmer Lights Shampoo – a purple colored shampoo ideally used to remove yellow pigments from hair processed with bleach to achieve blonde, or grey hair processed with pressed heat.  It should only be used as needed on grey hair because it has been known to stain and turn grey hair a light purple.

Clarifying/Neutralizing Shampoos – a strongly formulated shampoo ideally used as a post shampoo to balance the pH of the hair after a relaxer treatment or other chemical process.  This shampoo is essential after color treatments and scalp detoxing.  Regular use of these shampoos, without a chemical treatment or scalp detoxing, can strip the natural oil from your hair and result in hair damage.

The ingredients in shampoos can vary.  The ingredients and the order in which they are listed on the label can be a clue to how the shampoo is formulated.
